This seems to be pretty easy, I don't know why I was wasting so much time with the mass emails. Plus, this gives me an opportunity to hone my writing skills and show the world just how hilarious this girl really is. You guys can add comment to these posts, I'll update weekly, and I will keep a running log after the baby is born too. If you really luck out, Dave and I will step into the '90s and pick up a digital camera at some point, and there will be pictures. Give it time, we are just getting used to this new thing called cable television and at home internet service. So cutting edge.

This whole waiting for the clocks to change is really crappy this year. It is dark in the morning and combined with the headache that I have every morning for about a half hour, it is really hard to get up each day. I am tired until noon or so, and then really awake for the rest of the day.
I was supposed to go to the doctor yesterday, but he was sick, and he is out again today, so my appt is cancelled again. I also made an appt for Thursday, so hopefully he is all better by then. I weighed myself at the gym, and still nothing, but I have gained all the weight that I lost when I was sick back. My pants continue to get tighter at the waist while the rest of me is getting increasingly skinnier. Kind of weird.
Yesterday was a milestone- I wore maternity pants for the first time. I would recommend these to anyone, all the time. I liken them to a reverse mullet- party on the top, business on the bottom. There is a three inch elastic waist all the way around the top (kind of like the J-Lo sweatpants that all the big girls were wearing last year) and regular pants on the bottom. The Gap has actual sizes, rather than just small, medium, and large (and up). Which is really good, because even the smalls in the first tri-mester pants are really big on me. Who are these girls and what are they eating? I shove my face full of peanut butter and milk all day. I have even stepped it up to 1% milk, which is just short of drinking pus. It is so thick and phlem-y. I can't bring myself to even swallow 2% or whole. I have given up buying pants in size 8 or 10, because they are so big everywhere else but the waist. They are just saggy and gross. The big problem with maternity pants is they aren't cheap. Even at K-Mart and Target, where they are gross anyway- with the big panels and duck- shaped fit, they are pricey. To get a good pair in a maternity department it is going to run $40-75. Good thing I'm not in the habit of changing my pants too many times a week. The shirts are a whole other story- they are easier to find, but maternity shirts are so low-cut that I look almost obscene. Some girls are really happy to have bigger boobs, and love to show them off. I've had big ones my whole life, and never thought it was that great- especially now that I look increasingly like the St. Pauli's beer maid. I have been buying a few mat. shirts, but mostly just mediums and larges in regular shirts. Well, as you can tell by the rambling, there isn't much going on...

Good news is, I'm feeling much better. The antibiotics finally kicked in, and the sinus infection is just about gone. It is so nice not to have a steady stream of pus running out of your nose and down your throat. Just one of those little things you take for granted all the time, like opposable thumbs. I have gained back a couple of the pounds that I lost in the past few weeks, so hopefully by the time I go to the doctor's on Monday, I will at least weigh what I weighed at my 4 month appt. My belly is finally poking above my waist band, so it seems everything is growing in there as scheduled. The baby loves to run around in there, and is still working on devising a plot to dig its way out.
Dave and I are having a lot of fun learning all about baby things. For instance, Tyler fits perfectly into 3-6 month onesies, but she doesn't like when they are buttoned around her tail. I can understand- my bathing suit is starting to dig in a little around my tail, and I don't like it one bit. I guess I should stop wearing a bathing suit instead of underwear. Bailey loves to sleep on top of Goodnight Moon, only after she finds the mouse on each page. Goodnight kitten. These are the important things that must be so easy to forget as we get older.
I will probably have the ultrasound done sometime in the next three weeks. We have decided to find out whether it is a boy or a girl. I was against this at first, but now that we are going to do it, I'm excited. It will be easier to buy things ahead of time, and then decide on a name. We think either Cecilia or Alexander.
I hope all is well and next week's update will include all the fun stuff that happens at the doctor's office. Be good and take care!
