To all of you tear-shedders I say this. It's only hair.
It will be back sooner than you can imagine.
I was tired of picking out the snots and the knots every ten minutes.
I didn't cry, but I was afraid he would totally ugg out with the absence his mop. He's looking pretty good though. And I'm sure that no one will tell me I'm dressing my little girl like a boy for at least three weeks.
And just in case you only love Jake because of his hair, here are a couple shots to get you through the loss.
o
A lot a lot.
I'm surprised he isn't scabbier than he is.

He is a stunningly beautiful boy, with or without hair!
Now, I love your kiddo, because he loves my kiddo, and because his mom is fabulous! Regardless the kid is a heartbreaker with or without his mop top.
He is so adorable!!
His hair is beautiful, but his eyes are magnificent!!
Awww, I love it. I buzzed off the boy's hair months ago so I've had time to get used to it. I totally don't miss the snot/food encrusted hair one bit.
I feel the same way about posting pics of my kids.
He is absolutely beautiful though. Hair or no.
Everyone under the age of big-enough-to-wash-it-yourself should have a buzz cut.
I will love Jake with or without hair simply because he is your son!
The new buzz cut does make his eyes pop.
He is adorable with the hair and adorable without. Im sure the summer heat will be more bearable without the mop! Plus, easy maintenance!
What a cutie! With those big ol eyes he looks handsome either way :)
I'm not a weirdo, but I love when you post pics. Jake is absolutely adorable.
Shaved head is nicer in the summer and easier to maintain. I'm all about it. Hell, I'd shave my head if I could get away with it.
My boy has worn a buzzed on the sides mowhawk every summer since he was born. Most people had something to say about it.
It's incredibly cute - Jake's new do I mean.
The picture of the big hand pushing him forward with the trimmer held to his head, not so much. Kinda disturbing.
But bath time is so much easier with short hair....
There is no way Jake can't be adorable. We're trying to buzz Beau's hair but we're having sitting still issues.
I love him sans hair! His (absolutely gorgeous) eyes are much bigger looking.
Seriously cute kid.
That's the haircut of choice in our house. My boys won't sit still to have their hair combed, and I can only imagine what would get stuck in it if they had hair based on what gets stuck to their faces. No thanks. My rule sis when they're old enough to wash and brush it, they can have hair any length they choose. While I have to deal with it, I pick.
Gabriel suffers from THE MOUTH HERPES.
Also? He suffered from serious mop head, but it's been lobbed off of awhile now.
I love pictures! They make the people that I read all whole and stuff.
I like the new haircut! Cute pictures, in a totally non-creepy blog-lurker way.
My kid always looks like I dragged him under the car for a few blocks. That one little "herpes" mark is nothing!
I was sad when I cut Tennyson's baby curls off too, but I think he's adorable as a "big boy."
Jake's so cute! He kind of reminds me of Demi in GI Jane!
OMG...he looks so adorable with his head shaven. Those gorgeous brown eyes just pop out at ya now! I remember the first time I cut off my sons curls and went with a more boyish short cut...now he's 16 and he has his mop head curls back. :o) When they are so young and into everything the buzz is the way to go, esp. in the summer.
aww what a cute little bug
yea, I feel the same way about posting pictures of Isabella. Once in a while I will throw one up on my site but its rare.
creeps are everywhere
It is a right of passage for every little boy! I guess I am just jealous of Jake's hair, I would kill if Sam's hair looked that good long and surfer shaggy. He is still the cutest of all the monchichis!!!
What a cutie! Does he loved his shaved look?
I had the BEST idea. Your kid with his stunning big brown eyes would make BEAUTIFUL babies with my kid who has stunning big brown eyes.
Hair, schmair. It'll grow back.
Trust me, it grows back!
So much easier to take care of.
He is so cute...SO CUTE...or beautiful and yes i just said that about your boy. With or without hair...and I totally get you on the snots, for some reason JD ALWAYS has snot in his hair? I'm like...your nose isn't even running? :) Thank you for sharing a little Jakezilla with us! :)
I have a special place in my heart for Jake and you know this. And it's because he has a beautiful, old soul. His hair is just the tiniest fraction of him, so it doesn't bother me one way or the other if he's got long hair or is a baldie.
What a cutie! All little boys get the buzz cut, he has to be cool, mom!!
It is a sad world that you have to worry about sharing your photos of your little one.
OMG
I did the same thing about 2 weeks ago
It is not a scar it is hair
I used to fall down a lot.
Dangit! More badass points.
Oh, and he needs one of these.

He had that beautiful floppsy moppsy hair, but I know all about the need for a buzz clip. Both my boys are sporting them (Now that T will tolerate the clippers.) It's just easier.
T sits and pets his head. He says he feels like a kitty.
Oh he's precious (hair or no)!
Aw, he looks cute no matter what! My Mom was just devastated we cut our oldest's hair short. It's so much easier in the summer that way... but we are growing out my youngest's hair to "hippie" length- his is less thick.
What hair? He is all eyes!!
He is such a cutie. and I am literally sitting here in shock, probably because LL's hair is out of control and I should totally have it shaved off. but I won't do it. I won't. and the poor kid will sweat all summer. you are such a better mama than I am!
