I gave myself a hangnail carrying a case of water from the car to the house.
Other than that, Irene didn't put out too much hardship in Philadelphia despite what the news had us thinking we might get. The lights didn't even flicker and there isn't anything in the basement the dehumidifier won't take care of for me. Thank goodness for all that, others weren't so lucky.
Add up the earthshake and the hurrican't and the two crickets I found in the yard this morning and the tickle in my throat and you've got real end of times stuff on your hands.

11 degrees {comments}:
Next will be zombies.
Glad you guys are okay. We got a lot of rain and strong winds here in MA, that's about it. Our basement is flooded, but that happens a lot.
I would rather grumble that the weather people are too annoying with their hype of the storm and scare the crap out of all the stupid people who think going to Dunkin Donuts for coffee in 90 mile hour winds is acceptable behavior than for them to act like Mother Nature is not a force to be reckoned with and her unpredicatability is what makes her so frightening!
So glad you are okay and I am lucky to be happily content in Red Rock Country!
Glad you're ok. Some surrounding districts have closed school today due to roads that are still closed and power that's still out. Thankfully we're ok, and my kid is still going to school.
Every worldly disaster is a sign of the end of times, I have become immune to it all so much so that when I am left behind I will be ill prepared.
So happy to hear you are safe- stay that way!
Two crickets? Man, if you had found a third, it would have been classified as a plague!
Glad everything in Philly is okay. Was thinking about my friends there and hoping the storm was uneventful.
Glad you are ok. I had worried about you over the weekend while watching the hurricane coverage. Something I got hooked on when my daughter was threatened by Katrina and Ike. She lives on the coast.
I'm convinced it's the Rapture (I'm Jewish and totally kidding). But I told my SIL that it must be since NYC got hit with everything, and then tonight in NC we had a HAILSTORM. And then sun and breeze and then a crazy thunder and lightening storm to the point that my dog was flipping out and my kiddo snuggled up to me on the couch and our power flashed and we had to restart Beauty and the beast. :) Rapture, I tell ya.
You are lucky. Irene did me dirty. Now power for 16 hours and 15 inches of water.
Good Times!
Glad you made it through ok!
