It is so hard for working moms when kid care changes.

Had to look up marl/marled and I have a pair of socks like that and didn't know it. They aren't my favorite. I have two pair of cashmere socks I can only wear when it is like snowing here and this winter has been a very warm one. Darnit!

It is not hard for me to find "do nothing" activities.

Rocky Horror--a theater in New York played it every weekend. My husband and I always meant to go. People dressed up and shouted the lines. I have seen it on TV. Yes, they are committed to those parts! I remember finding out the guy in Spin City was from Rocky Horror Picture Show. I was shocked!

Now that you say it I don't think I have actually sat and watched Rocky Horror from start to finish in one sitting.
I hate to hear when things close and this year in Wisconsin nothing is really closing and everyone is all happy because they have lower taxes and whatever but what they don't realize is the budgets for all these things were set before all the Wisconsin drama so we will have to wait for next year to see what the collateral damage is. Our Park and Rec dept. already fell apart- it was award winning and they tore it apart and put it into urban development and some other dept. that has nothing to do with parks or rec. It's is sad to see something so good be tossed aside without consideration to how good it is. Nothing is sacred anymore.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Yes, my sister uses that center for her daughter too in the summer. I bet she and Jake were in the same group together this past summer. I must introduce the two of you although my guess is you are worlds apart. She is my sister and I know we are!

My friend also goes swimming there in the morning. She sees a group of black woman who are all older and she calls them the church ladies. At one point they all had her buying them swim caps on line bc they didn't know how to order them over the internet.

She told me that the place is sold. It has been in the works for a while. It is sad. Does Jake go to the charter school across the street? I know the area well! As you know I grew up in SP! I feel so close to you when I read your blog.

Love East Bound and Down. Love it! I also love that you love Rocky Horror - I adore that movie and often times wanted to go as Tim's character for halloween... but then there is the issue that I would have to get in shape for the roll and really don't want my fanny hanging out in public... That and I feel more like Meatloaf than Curry.

Maybe if I lay off the comfort food ;)

You have great "do nothing" television choices. I keep finding myself trying to fall asleep and being left with the choice of Jersey shore [kill me now] or Kardashians [kill me again] - I will admit when these first came out I watched to see what all the hype was about... it didn't last long... it makes me want to claw my face off.
